The concept of ‘security’ has taken a new dimension. Today, human security lies at the core of the international security architecture, as can be seen with the ongoing crises in many parts of the world. Facing these challenges would require more innovative ideas than those currently available. In fact, the multipolarity of the current international system is best described as anarchic, however, the international order has not fallen trap to any great power conflict for the last 70 years. There are numerous contradictions in our international system. As we liberalize and open our borders on one end, we still compartmentalize ourselves behind narrow domestic boxes (nation-states). Albeit we have made great strides in many fields, we have yet not fully rationalized on how to best govern ourselves.
