Put together a support flyer for a specific psychological or mental health disorder

Background: You have been tasked by your organization to put together a support flyer for a specific psychological or mental health disorder or illness in your area (e.g., bipolar, depression, PTSD, GAD, alcoholism, schizophrenia, autism). The flyer should be framed to support and educate a specific group of people (parents, loved ones, caregivers). You will create a flyer using the resources in Topic 7. Before starting your assignment, conduct research on your selected disorder/mental health illness in the city where you live. Identify several resources for local support groups and therapeutic clinics in your area. Review each website or resource you visit and make notes of what you found helpful or informative.

Directions: Select a specific mental illness/disorder and create a supportive educational flyer which addresses the following:

Describe the mental illness or disorder selected (description, symptoms) and what others can expect from an individual suffering from the disorder or illness.

Discuss stigmas (myths or false beliefs) associated with the mental illness selected.

Identify and describe a minimum of one treatment option.

List three local community resources for a person diagnosed with this illness or disorder. Include information on who can receive the support/treatment at these locations. Contact information is required (address, phone number, website)

Attributes of An Effective Leader

Attributes of an Effective Leader. Prior to beginning work on this assignment read and review Chapters 1-13 from Introduction to Leadership: Concepts and Practice, review The Only Business Writing Book You’ll Ever Need text, review the Week 5 – Weekly Lecture and the List of 50 Leaders  Download List of 50 Leadersdocument.

Additionally, review the Making PowerPoint Slides: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Bad Slides (Links to an external site.) presentation, the How to Make a PowerPoint Presentation (Links to an external site.) resource, and previous weekly assignments.

This week’s assignment is a PowerPoint presentation that will provide the following information:

In your presentation,

· Describe how your chosen leader exhibits the key elements of an ethical leader.

· Describe how your chosen leader exhibits the behaviors of an emotionally intelligent leader.

· Describe how your chosen leader exhibits strategic vision and empowers stakeholders.

Your PowerPoint presentation should be six to eight slides (not including the title or references slides) and include substantial speaker notes (no less than 100 words per each speaker notes section), include a minimum of two scholarly sources from the library in addition to the textbook, and adhere to APA guidelines. The Making PowerPoint Slides: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Bad Slides (Links to an external site.) presentation is a good resource to use for tips and guidelines for creating an effective PowerPoint presentation.

The Attributes of an Effective Leader presentation

· Must use at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed, credible sources in addition to the course text.

· The Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor. Your instructor has the final say about the appropriateness of a specific source for a particular assignment.

Population subgroups

All countries have population subgroups that are more vulnerable to health threats than the general population. What are some reasons that vulnerable populations are more sensitive to risk factors than those who are more resilient?

Describe what is meant by vulnerable populations and explain strategies you, as the public health nurse, could use to best facilitate the achievement of healthful outcomes in this population?

Newborn intensive care unit

Newborn intensive care unit is a familiar clinical practice area that, like any other clinical practice area, needs improvements because of the change /increase in demand for the services offered in the NICU.

There are many staff members involved in the NICU area of practice. They include administrators, a range of doctors, nurses, and support staff like cleaners and social workers.

A change in this practice area will affect all these staff members differently, but the main aim is to improve the quality of services offered to ensure the best patient outcome.

All interested groups will support the publication of game-changing research findings since they are meant to improve the service delivery system.

Hospital administrators will be excited with the findings since it provides a roadmap to improve service delivery in the hospital. Publication of the findings that more doctors and nurses should be employed to solve the shortage crisis in the NICU area will be positively received by NICU staff.

Patients in the NICU area require specialized attention, and many patients are being admitted to the NICU area as time goes by. The available specialized doctors are few and are experiencing burnout.

Nurses will also be happy about the publication of the research findings favoring the employment of more nurses to reduce the number of NICU patients one nurse takes care of (Bresesti et al., 2020).

Therefore, doctors will support the research findings and advocate for more doctors to be employed to reduce doctors’ and nurses’ burnout.

For a long time, parents have advocated for inclusion in NICU treatments. This publication will be an advantage to them as many people will get to understand their needs and support them.

Increased parent participation in the NICU, including their presence and infant holding, will improve attachment, thus improving the infant’s ability to cope with NICU stressors (Benzies et al., 2017).

Therefore, parents and families will support the published findings that favor their inclusion in the treatment and improve the treatment outcome. Also, social workers will be at the forefront in supporting the published findings since their inclusion in the NICU area is of value.

Their emotional support for the parents makes the whole process less stressful, and the parents can easily cope with the situation and be hopeful that the struggle will end in no time.

Therefore, administrators, doctors, nurses, families, and social workers will be interested in the findings and will support them since they will improve service delivery in the NICU.

Theory of unpleasant symptoms

Using the theory of unpleasant symptoms as a guide, what would you look for in an assessment tool for patient symptoms?

Federal oversight of Business enterprise

Using current events (for example, local, state, or federal oversight of business enterprise and personal freedoms), discuss if there can be too much public policy in place. Can government overextend and intrude into our personal freedoms? Is it worth the benefits? Argue your viewpoint with examples.

Emotional Reactions Presentation

Emotional Reactions Presentation. For this assignment, you will create a 3-5-minute video speech presentation to discuss emotional reactions. In your presentation provide an illustration of a specific emotional reaction of a situation you were in.

Then explain the emotional reaction using two different theories of emotions discussed in Chapter 7.

Finally, provide an argument for which of the two theories offers a better explanation of the emotional reaction.

Your video speech presentation should be a 3-5 minutes in length and cite specific examples that provide detailed analysis incorporating reading and textbook material. If outside sources are used, proper citation of the source should be included.

The goal of this assignment is to adapt your topic to the audience (your classmates), use a clear organizational pattern, and present an extemporaneous speech. You may use note cards or a copy of your outline to present your speech (you do not need to submit an outline for scoring).

Please do not attempt to type your speech out word for word.  Using a word for word outline can result in reading directly from your paper and will result in a point deduction.

What is a Reflection Paper

What is a Reflection Paper? A reflection is not a regurgitation of what your instructor said or what was written in your textbook. It is a record of your reaction to the particular topic. “A reflection paper is typically more formal than a journal entry because of its academic tone, but it’s less formal than a report because it expresses one’s personal thoughts” (Indeed Editorial Team, 2021). You are expected to reflect and look back on what your instructor taught in class with thought:

· What did you learn?

· What are the essential points to you in this chapter?

· Did it trigger a past event that you can relate to?

· How will you apply this to your leadership practice (life at home, life at work, life in your community)?

· Where do you think the strengths and weaknesses are?

· How does that relate to the culture you came from? How will you apply it to your culture?

· Think of other cultures that are different from yours?

Please do not just answer the questions. You are expected to add your reflection, thoughts, and opinions on the subject.

Assignment Guidelines

· Minimum 1 page, double-spaced.

· Must be APA7.

· Make sure to use correct APA in-text citations for paraphrased ideas and quoted text.

Due date

· Each reflection paper is due the evening before the following class at 11:55 p.m. Please upload to the appropriate Dropbox under Assignment] [Dropbox] in Moodle.
