Researchers Main and Solomon added a fourth attachment style known as disorganized-insecure attachment

Policy development on Indigenous people

Every policy developer that is working on policy development on Indigenous people (which arguably could be all policy development) should be responsible for reading and understanding the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Final Report and 94 calls to action. Siu (2020) states that it provides “a reservoir of information and data valuable for public policy development…” (p.111).

While policy developers do not have the final say on implementing public policies, they can have an incredible influence on developing and researching policy options. During the development process, careful attention should be given to the good policy Principle of Justice which aims to make policies “fair, more inclusive, and equitable” (p.81).

Policy developers are responsible for developing good public policies and that cannot be done unless the well-being of Indigenous peoples is considered at every stage of development. Overall, Policy developers play an important role in reconciliation and addressing harms as they identify issues, conduct research and analyze, and present options and recommendations for the government (p.31).

A very critical role of policy developers is to consult Indigenous leaders and communities to gain an understanding of their perspectives and the effects a policy could have. If policies are to be good and successful this is an important step as it will inform policy developers on social context, culture, traditions, values, and beliefs, and stakeholder dynamics (p.213).

The reply should answer those questions Tips for Responses: 1-Even if you disagree with me or your peers, do not repeat harmful stereotypes or racist tropes about Indigenous people. 2-In your responses, remember to be respectful of your peers.

Your comments should focus on issues and concepts. 3-Consider why your view is the same or different than what you read in your peers’ answers. Do you have different information? Are you drawing on different sources? Do you prioritize different values?

Arizona Cardinals shirt to polling location

Quiet on the Western Front by Remarque

Examine the historical relevance of and the manner in which All Quiet on the Western Front by Remarque Erich the ideas, feeling, and perspectives of Europe following the First World War. How does the work relate to the historical events that provide the context for the work?

Make sure that you include numerous examples to support your conclusions! Remarque’s work itself will be the most important source for your paper, so be sure to cite specific examples from the book to support your arguments and ideas.

You may also use your notes and the textbook as potential sources for your paper. If you specifically cite a passage from the notes or text book, you will need to cite those sources as well Outside sources such as scholarly reviews, articles, or deconstructions concerning All Quiet should not be used. The purpose of this paper is to relate your personal ideas concerning the book and the way that it illustrates the ideas and reaction to WWI.

I expect citations from any source that you use or draw your ideas from, and suggest that if you quote, do so briefly and efficiently. Please do not give plot summaries or lengthy quotes from the book. This is redundant and wasteful. Citation should be easily understood. For example,  citing All Quiet, the textbook or notes, a simple

Development of the American legal system

Features of the US Legal System

You have studied the role of political theories in the development of the American legal system. You have also explored features of the U.S. legal system, including its history, procedures, and institutions. In order to understand the U.S. legal system, it is helpful to explore an actual legal issue.

This assignment has two parts.

Part 1:

You are a paralegal at the law firm of Dewey, Earn, and Howe. A new paralegal, Willy Understand, has just been hired and you have been assigned to mentor him. On his first day, he has been given an office memo research project concerning motorcycle helmet laws. But Willy is woefully inexperienced in the area of constitutional law and knows next to nothing about helmet laws.

The senior partner has given him the following assignment: “There seems to be no question that motorcycle helmets are an important safety precaution that prevent death and injury. However, some argue that it violates the very nature of liberty for government to make helmets mandatory, to prosecute victimless crimes, and prohibit actions that are merely bad habits or vice.

Read the articles below and then submit to me a 2 pages argument, supported by political theory, as to whether it is an appropriate role of government (federal OR state) to have a mandatory law requiring people to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle.”

  • U.S. Department of Transportation Campaign Safe and Sober. (1996, October). Motorcycle helmets: The facts of life. https://www.nhtsa.gov/people/injury/pedbimot/NoMigrate/Mcfol2.pdf
  • Vance, L. M. (2010, May 21). Every crime needs a victim. Campaign for Liberty.https://www.lewrockwell.com/2010/05/laurence-m-vance/if-its-a-crime-it-has-a-victim/

You tell Willy to make sure the memo focuses on the constitutionality of helmet laws and to reference the Constitution. Willy seriously needs your help with this first project. So you agree (with boss’ approval) to draft this and then work with Willy to edit it so that you both get credit for it. You are a good writer. DRAFT THE MEMO and free Willy from the stress. Show him how it is done.

Part 2:

For the second part of this assignment, answer the following: If your state chose to prosecute someone for not wearing a helmet while operating a motorcycle, then how would the case work through the court system from trial court to the highest appellate court?

Write a 1-page description of how the case would progress from the trial court to the highest appellate court in your state. Be sure to briefly describe each level of court, and cite to the authority where you got the information about your state court system.

Your state may not have a mandatory helmet law. If it does not, explain how a helmet law violation might move through the legal system IF your state had a mandatory helmet law. DO NOT LEAVE THIS SECOND PART OF THE ASSIGNMENT BLANK.

The major political ideologies

If the major political ideologies were, in their various ways, products of modernization, the transition from a modern to a postmodern society cannot but have profound significance for their roles and character. While modern societies were structured by industrialization and class solidarity, postmodern societies are increasingly fragmented and pluralistic “information societies’ in which individuals are transformed from producers to consumers, and individualism replaces class, religious and ethnic loyalties. -Andrew Heywood

Measure of media coverage of a candidate for office

A researcher wanted to make a measure of media coverage of a candidate for office, and therefore created a set of coding rules to code words in newspaper articles as either pro” or “con” toward the candidate.

Instead of hiring students to implement these rules, however, the researcher used a computer to code the text, by counting the frequency with which certain words, were mentioned in a series of articles. What would be the reliability of such a computer-driven measurement strategy, and why?
