Interviewing is an important skill set for all managers as well as those involved in human resources. As employees turnover more quickly, the frequency of interviews in the modern organization increases. One critical facet of interviewing is knowing what not to ask.

Training required to be successful

While many employees are able to come to a new position with most or all of the training required to be successful, this is not the case for all employees. Training can be an important component to fill in gaps in an employee’s skill set, to address specific needs of an employer or industry, and adapt to changes in the marketplace. These reasons indicate that training may be a requirement within most firms.

Effective interviewing is an important part of employee selection, especially as firms broaden the pool of applicants to those beyond their traditional marketplace. Assume the following scenario in a global company hiring a diverse workforce.

Research: Describe your research process. What tools were utilized to gather research material? Who was involved in the research process? In the appendix include the following items and refer to how they were utilized in the body of this section.
