Human physiology and identity

Here’s astrophysicist Bernard Haisch: “The electromagnetic quantum vacuum is a form of light. It is an underlying sea of energy that permeates every tiny volume of space, from the emptiest intergalactic void to the depths of the Earth, the Sun, and our own bodies. Our world of matter is like the visible foam atop a very deep ocean of light.” Discuss the significance of this description for human physiology and identity.

Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems

What are the other names used to denote the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and why? What neurotransmitter is synthesized in the preganglionic fibers of the sympathetic neurons? What neurotransmitter is synthesized in the preganglionic fibers of the parasympathetic neurons? What neurotransmitter is synthesized in the postganglionic fibers of the sympathetic neurons? What neurotransmitter is synthesized in the postganglionic fibers of the parasympathetic neurons? What are the exceptions that I emphasized in the class about ANS? Would you consider somatic nerve as part of the ANS? If not, why?

Dissemination of data

The collection, interpretation, and dissemination of data is an important component of community health, as highlighted in Chapter 3. We learned of the various ways of collecting data and displaying it for the general public to analyze. In order to implement successful community health programs that will make an impact, we must collect data from various sources to see how extensive the problem is in the community and subsequently design, implement, and evaluate community health programs to address the problem.

For this week’s discussion forum post, I would like you to search for data sets from the County of Orange, the State of California, and the United States health databases for one of the following diseases.

  1. Diabetes
  2. Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
  3. Mental Health
  4. Cancer
  5. COVID-19

Find the prevalence rate, incidence rate, and mortality rate for your selected disease at the county, state, and federal levels. Also identify who is impacted the most by your selected disease (ethnic group, seniors, children, etc..) Please summarize your findings and provide any charts or other visual aids to present the data you collect.

Diet prescription following the kidney transplant

Don Hines is a 46-year-old construction worker who has had type 1 diabetes since the age of 13. Over the past 5 years, his kidney function began to fail despite his best efforts to follow a low-protein diet and control his diabetes. He has been on hemodialysis for 2 years while waiting for a suitable donor for a kidney transplant. On Christmas Day, he received a phone call that a kidney was available and he underwent successful transplant surgery. Don is 5 ft 8 in. tall and weighs 175 lb.

1. Don will require high doses of anti-inflammatory immunosuppressive drugs following his transplant. Based on his history of diabetes, why would these medications be cause for concern? What modifications in diet and diabetes medications may be necessary?

2. How would you explain to Don the changes in his diet prescription following the kidney transplant compared to his previous diet while he was on hemodialysis?

3. Why are transplant patients at higher risk for foodborne infections? How would you educate Don about food safety?

Domains of development (Physical, Social/emotional, Language, and Cognitive development).

Understanding and using development theory in educational settings.

Criteria:

Good understanding of stages of development in children from birth to two years.

Clear position and strong argument in the paper, supported with relevant reference.

Empirical evidence and personal experience presented in the paper is relevant to the argument.

The importance of having trauma-informed agencies

The importance of having trauma-informed agencies in the communities. please reflect on a time you or someone you know experienced a type of traumatic event.

What resources were available to you at that time? What resources would have been helpful? Were you or your friend or family member knowledgeable about all community resources prior to the incident? Were there any real or perceived barriers to accessing these facilities?

Were you previously familiar with these resources? why or why not? If you were familiar with the resources, please provide information regarding the agency such as mission statement, preferred treatment modalities (if available), etc. you may utilize the NCTSN website for assistance or google.

while creating this journal, please also document any/all emotions that you experienced.

Also, now that you have started your Community Agency Proposal Project, be sure to record any similarities that you encountered and if you now have a better understanding of the way the organization was operating.

What is important in a trauma-informed approach?

The Guiding Values/Principles of Trauma-Informed Care

The Five Guiding Principles are; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment. Ensuring that the physical and emotional safety of an individual is addressed is the first important step to providing Trauma-Informed Care.

Describe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Describe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) What are the symptoms, Average age of onset Prevalence Etiology Genetics/Biological Environmental

Discussion of the relationship between biology and environmental factors in the development of OCD Diagnostic criteria (Use the DSM 5) Treatments: biological-based and Other treatments Short- and long-term prognosis

Is obsessive-compulsive disorder genetic or environmental?
In addition to genetic factors, researchers are studying environmental factors that might contribute to OCD, including complications during pregnancy or childbirth and stressful life events. However, none have been conclusively associated with this disorder.
What is obsessive-compulsive disorder and its symptoms?

Discrimination and prejudice

To provide you with an opportunity to explain how to respect the person as the author, definer and director of their own recovery and recovery journey. ?

Why is it important to consider a person’s cultural safety when establishing self-directed recovery relationships?
If you avoid discrimination and prejudice and work in an environment that values access and equity principles, the person is more likely to feel supported and encouraged to contribute to their recovery. A culturally safe environment is one in which a person’s identity, cultural and otherwise, is not challenged.

The process of transforming copper nuggets into archaeological tools

Why was it necessary to reconstruct the process of transforming copper nuggets into archaeological tools to understand intentional burning in the past? What did the researchers and archeologists come to understand about how these ancient practices were carried out and what the practices meant to human lives?
