Once you know what the employer needs and wants, you can zero in on the qualities that you can use to fill those needs and wants. If, for instance, the employer has informed you that he or she needs someone who is reliable, you will want to stress your punctuality, using examples from your past. If the employer mentions experience that you do not have, you will want to talk about how quickly you learn, or the experience you have had that relates to the job.
