Relationship between colonialism and patriarchy
What does the relationship between colonialism and patriarchy teach us about the construction of the Other and especially Other women Given that colonialism operates in a patriarchal context, it is clear that colonialism is itself a gendered process. In a colonial context, violence, political exclusion, economic exploitation, sexual exploita- tion, control of culture and divide and conquer are patterned differ- ently for men and for women.
