Indonesia’s economic development under the Suharto new Order

 Indonesia’s economic development under the Suharto new Order in the 1960s that shows critical thinking? How do I apply the modernisation theory (by Lipset/ Rostow/ Huntington)

In the meantime, I have written the below but have not entirely link it to the theorists’ ideas.

“In 1968, under the Suharto New Order, Indonesia accepted funding from the World Bank, whose president at the time, Robert McNamara, had a keen interest in Indonesia. What began as an irrigation and rehabilitation project swiftly developed into a cooperation that forever altered the landscape of the agriculture industry. Over the following 31 years, economic growth would positively impact the transportation industry, then electricity, telecommunication, and finally education—the primary force required to improve a society and economy (World Bank, 2018).”

Interest groups lobbying Congress on immigration

Interest groups lobbying Congress on immigration is the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC). Immigration is a controversial issue in the U.S., and each political party has its interests concerning immigration. The ABIC is an interest group lobbying for “sensible immigration reforms to grow our economy and strengthen our families” (American Business Immigration Coalition, 2021).

Illegal immigration is a concern for many Americans, “with citizens fearing increases in crime and social spending due to large amounts of people entering the United States illegally” (Krutz and Waskiewicz, 2019, p. 225). Regulated immigration would allow for a lighter load on the economy and more innovation for a diverse background of individuals but does not stress supply lines with an excessive influx of people and allows immigrants to better integrate into the economy.

In a letter sent to Republican congressional leaders, the ABIC stated that “improving border security and providing a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers is not only morally right; it is also absolutely crucial to addressing labor shortages, reducing food prices, and creating jobs for all American families (Rodriguez, 2022).

Controlled integration of immigrants is an excellent way to bridge the gap politically, with the ABIC being a bipartisan effort in accomplishing this. There are many radical opinions on both sides of the political spectrum. We as a country must find a middle ground if we want to continue to innovate and best help the American people.

Although I am against interest groups, they have accomplished great things in the past, such as the Civil Rights Act. However, there is less of this in the modern era. I would be supportive of interest groups if they could decrease political polarization, revamp the U.S. economy, and bring back the U.S.’s global influence.

How can i respond to this question in regards to interest groups influence on policy making?

Max Weber modern social sciences

Max Weber modern social sciences  fathers  theorized at the beginning of the 20th century the modern state, its bureaucracy, as well as the emergence of professional politicians. Legitimacy is of utmost importance for Max Weber. Explain what legitimacy is, how it relates to power and authority, and why it is so important. Make sure to cover Max Weber’s three ideal-types of legitimation and provide examples.

Key public concern due to technology

Privacy rights have become a key public concern due to  technology growth rapidly. The government can now improve national security by tracking the movement of all suspicious activities, both online and offline, due to the new technological advancements. Companies, government institutions, and security agencies have access to practically all data that can be considered private, as seen by the frequent data breaches and information leaks.

I believe that we should prioritize national safety rather than our privacy. In terms of terrorism, some privacy loss and greater security measures are essential to lower the possibilities of terrorists entering America. The national security strategy’s goal is to ensure the protection of our country’s most basic and long-term needs: safeguarding Americans’ lives and property; preserving the United States’ sovereignty, including its values, institutions, and territory; and ensuring the nation’s and people’s prosperity.

However, I do believe we should find the right balance between privacy and national security. Privacy is very important but when it comes to national measures where it can help detect suspicious activities and danger, I feel that national security outweighs privacy. National security looks at the bigger picture and the safety of our country as a whole while privacy is on a personal level.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a request for proposals for a contract to “proactively identify and reactively monitor threats to the United States and its interests” by acquiring data from social media platforms according to the agency’s announcement. A loss of privacy can improve the overall quality of life, as those seeking to isolate and harm people are arrested before they can cause physical harm – and the hateful teachings they propagate are deleted from social media platforms and websites.

Current national and international regulations

Research and consider current national and international regulations. As the aviation industry is evolving, regulations need to adapt to meet the changing landscape. Research one national and one international regulation to identify an area where the regulation could be improved based on current, or future, industry changes. As an example of potential changes coming to the aviation industry watch How Autonomous Flying Taxis Could Change the Way You Travel (8:04/Ted Talks) (Links to an external site.)

. You may choose any two regulations you wish. Then write a two to three-page paper, not including the title page and reference page, that identifies the regulation and then explains and supports your proposed improvement.

Relevance for the feminist movement

write a short paragraph (for each) describing their relevance for the feminist movement If women stop, the world stops. (Women’s Strike in Spain 2018; Women’s Global Strike 2020)

Support your sisters, not just cisters! (London, 2017) Abortion is healthcare; healthcare is a right. (Warsaw, 2020)

If you fear from the dark at night, we will set the city on fire. (Istanbul, IWD march, 2020) They say it is love. We say it is unwaged work.” (Silvia Federici, Wages for Housework campaign, 1975)

Research on Japan’s Nuclear Village program

Koppenborg’s (2020) research on Japan’s Nuclear Village program revealed that the program was unsuccessful despite receiving massive political support. Based on this case study, analyse requirements for successful policy implementation that the program has failed to adhere.Almost 11 years have passed since the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and the subsequent disaster at the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.  Propose ways to improve the implementation of the program.

The 2008 Campaign between Obama and McCain

The 2008 Campaign between Obama and McCain Discuss the political climate under which the campaigns were run.2. Include a detailed history of the campaigns. This will include but isn’t necessarily limited to the following:

  • A discussion of the presidential primaries and candidate strategies during the (note that analysis will differ substantially for candidates in elections before the McGovern/Frasier reforms compared to candidates following those reforms);
  • A discussion of the general election strategies used by the candidates’ campaigns;

  • identify non-demographic factors (such as attitudes and opinions) related to candidate support or opposition and relate those factors to the campaigns’ strategies.
  • Discuss what the scholarly consensus seems to be about the essential factors in voters’ choices in the election you’re analyzing. Relate those findings to your analysis of the campaigns.

4Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of the campaigns. This will include but isn’t necessarily limited to the following:

  • Significant issues or problems that emerged during the campaign and how the issues or problems were resolved.
  • Identify issues with the campaign that would lead you to conclude it could have been managed differently.
  • A detailed evaluation and explanation of whether the campaigns were run successfully and why (be certain to go beyond simply saying a campaign was effective because it won or ineffective because it lost).

Element of Operational Design

Element of Operational Design is “Arranging Operations” which includes the factors of simultaneity, depth, timing, and tempo, and uses the tools of phasing, branches, sequels, and operational pauses.  Describe at least four factors and / or tools with examples for “Arranging Operations” from the case study campaign design.
