  • Identify 2 – 3  SMART goals, including specific self-care interventions that will assist you in changing your behavioral response to stress.
  • Discuss the neurobiology behind how the mind and body communicate, possible complementary medicine, and other strategies that would help you affect a positive behavioral change.

Research implications

Use the following criteria to provide an analysis of the evidence using the evidence table template PROVIDED BELOW FOR The connection between global warming and diseases and other public health problems.

  • Is it recent? This is especially important if the evidence is data-driven.
  • Is it logical?
  • What is the experience of the authors or practitioners who created it?
  • Is there potential bias?
  • Is there any evidence challenging it?
  • How important is it?
  • Is it relevant to my investigation?
  • What is its significance?
  • Is this piece of evidence consistent with other evidence I have collected? If not, how is it different? Evidence Table

This evidence table allows you to list the evidence gathered. The goal of using this table is to promote succinct and careful thinking about research implications as applied or synthesized to your emerging issue.

Affordable Care Act

Using the internet, research and discuss 1 positive and 1 negative aspect of the Affordable Care Act.  Make some suggestions on how you feel this issue can be addressed.  Be sure to include the URL link/s to your research.

For example, one criticism is that although the healthcare marketplace was supposed to give consumers choices of health plans from insurers that compete to keep premiums down, fewer insurers seem to be participating and premiums are increasing sharply. This is in part due to the fact that the marketplace attracted to few consumers with little or modest health needs and instead attracted a larger proportion of sicker ones, which resulted in healthcare costs outstripping premium revenue.  Therefore, an insurance company either opts to exit the market as they are not earning enough money to keep up with the costs or increase their premiums to try and close the revenue-cost gap.  The increase in premiums, however, can further discourage consumers, particularly healthier ones, from enrolling, which worsens the problem.

One solution to the above issue is to subsidize the insurance plans to minimize their risk of loss. This helps the market stabilize and allows plan enrollment to grow. This is also referred to as a risk corridor program.

Sustainable transformation

Change is a constant presence in the healthcare arena therefore effective leaders must be capable of conveying their ideas in a clear and concise manner for sustainable transformation. The student will develop and introduce innovative strategies to propel the organization or department to a higher level (must be an actual idea). This essay must be impressive enough to inspire others to become champions of this cause (review exemplar located in the Unit 1 module). The essay must be 3 pages in length excluding the appendix, title, and reference page. You may choose a topic of professional relevance and something that can be translated into practice as a healthcare leader. The student will address the impetus for change, leadership traits needed to implement these new ideas, and any other related theories that can be applied to describe or support these ideas. Conceptual framework models can be placed in the appendix. You must submit the following for references: a minimum of 5 journal articles less than 5 years since publication. Wikipedia or dictionary websites are not acceptable references. This assignment requires appropriate spelling, grammar, and use of the current APA format and APA style of writing.

Three dimensions of sexuality

You must watch a video, related to sex, biology, gender, sexuality, relationships, and society.

The purpose of this assignment is to apply the three dimensions of sexuality (biological, psychological, sociocultural)by describing how they are or are not covered within one of the TED Talks provided.

Paragraph 1:

  • Summarize the TED Talk including at least 3 details from the video.
  • Don’t forget to use citations for the video in your discussion.

Paragraph 2:

  • Define each of the three dimensions of human sexuality, using the textbook as your guide. Then, choose two dimensions that this video addresses and explain how each dimension is addressed using examples from the video.
  • Don’t forget to use citations for both the textbook and video in your discussion.

Paragraph 3:

  • What are two implications on or consequences of the content of the TED Talk on two of the following issues: sex, gender, society, or public health? (For example, if your TED Talk was about sex workers, what consequences might their work have on society? Or how might public health be influenced by the laws surrounding sex work?)
  • Don’t forget to use citations for both the video and the additional source in these discussions.

Paragraph 4:

  • How do the sexual health issues the video discussed relate to at least two of the following social institutions: health care, criminal justice, education, employment, voting, and the military? For example, if you described issues related to sex workers, how are sex workers treated within the criminal justice system? What are increased healthcare concerns? Remember that individuals within these groups or individuals that face these health concerns are diverse, how can we address the many issues faced without being overly simplistic? Be sure to use examples and evidence to support the impact that this health issue has within these institutions using additional information beyond the video (SLO 10).
  • Don’t forget to use citations for both the video and the additional source in these discussions.

Paragraph 5:

  • Now that you have described and analyzed the dimensions of sexuality and the impact of sexual health issues in relation to health and society, you will describe your personal values and beliefs about these issues. How has your opinion about these issues changed or stayed the same since doing this research (SLO 9)?
  • This paragraph can be completely based on your opinions. No references are required. First-person language is encouraged.

Systems thinking approach

Systems thinking is an effective way of thinking about healthcare. It can be used as the foundation for automating, simplifying, improving, and changing almost any aspect of a healthcare organization or system as a whole (Trbovich, 2014).

1) What are some of the benefits and drawbacks of a systems thinking approach in the healthcare industry? Give some examples.

2) Do the benefits outweigh the drawbacks? If so, how? Provide some examples.

3) Choose three systems thinking theories to discuss in your analysis. Provide examples for each.

Nutrient needs

A person’s nutrient needs may change for a variety of reasons, but the most influential is stage-of-life. In this discussion, you will examine two stages of life chosen from the following:

  • Infancy
  • Childhood
  • Adolescence
  • Adulthood
  • Older adulthood
  • Pregnancy and Lactation
  • 1. Identify the two life stages of life you will discuss and list their names in the title of your initial post.
  • 2. Research and describe the current nutrient recommendations for the life stages you selected.
  • 3. Suggest foods that would be beneficial for each of the life stages you selected and explain why.
