Way of handling promotions or dismissals

1. During the selection process, how do you maintain fairness and inclusivity? Do you use a structured interview method to make sure each applicant is asked the same questions? Do you use employment tests? If so, how do you make sure these are reliable and valid?
2. Do you have a set way of handling promotions or dismissals to make sure that they are not discriminatory? Do you conduct exit interviews to ease employees’ concerns about fairness when being dismissed?
3. If an employee has a concern about workplace discrimination, where can they go to discuss their concerns? Is there a process to deal with the issue?

Developing philosophical and applied approach to counseling

You are asked to analyze, evaluate and critique the various counseling theories/approaches covered in your textbook. Please do not simply summarize each theory or simply quote the authors. Rather, evaluate and critique the theory’s view of human nature, its key concepts, the therapeutic process it lays out, and the techniques and procedures it applies. Identify with rationale, aspects of each theory/approach you tend to incorporate into your own developing philosophical and applied approach to counseling.

This paper should not be opinion based; you must demonstrate sufficient research and the ability to apply the research as a counselor. Each reaction paper body will be between 5-7 pages in length (typed and double-spaced) in proper APA format This paper will focus on the theories covered in chapters 10 (Feminist Theory and Therapy) and 11 (Constructive Theory and Therapy)

You may want your paper to emphasize one of the theories over the others because it is particularly meaningful or relevant to your goals as a counselor. This is acceptable, provided that you still address all theories covered for that assignment, dedicating at least one page to each theory within your paper. Also, elaborate on the application of the theories and techniques and discuss their differences in concept and practice.

Discuss traditional ways of diagnosing respiratory diseases

Start with discussing respiratory viruses (airborne and droplet) and the dangers they pose and hence the need for diagnoses and treatment measures for such diseases

Then discuss masks: how they are used now on a daily basis such as managing disease spread and in the medical field as well as how they are used in diagnosing diseases (sampling masks)

Discuss traditional ways of diagnosing respiratory diseases like covid and TB (using sputum, PCR testing, etc) and how this compares in terms of accuracy and how early they can detect viruses to sampling masks.

The evolution of sampling masks throughout history and what current research is done on them/ further areas that have not yet been researched

Discuss different types of masks with emphasis on the ones used in diagnosis (e.g. duckbilled masks), what materials these masks are made from, and the material’s impact on the environment.

The manufacturing process of current sampling masks used and cost if possible and ways that this can be improved (?)

what are the alternative materials these masks can be made out of in order to reduce its cost and/or environmental impact?

Legislation that directly affects a health care organization

Select a piece of federal or select state legislation that directly affects a health care organization from the human resources aspect (e.g., Americans With Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, sexual harassment law, visas/work permits).
Describe the federal or state legislation or regulation you selected.
How does this legislation or regulation affect healthcare organizations? Does it conflict with another federal or state legislative act? (E.g. protected classes in EEOC regulations in California differ from the federal classes).
What types of healthcare organizations are affected? If more than one, explain how each is impacted and if the impact is different based upon the type or size of the organization.
What are the penalties and fines associated with non-compliance? If they are not specifically listed in the legislation, include the general penalties associated with the enforcement body tasked to uphold the legislation.
What challenges are associated with this legislation or regulation for the patient, human resources employees, and the health care industry?
Describe the legal implications of employment documentation in the workplace and in the health care industry. that directly affects a health care organization from the human resources aspect (e.g., Americans With Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, sexual harassment law, visas/work permits).

One paragraph talks about the disadvantages the UK will face not being a part of the convention, which should explain why they are requesting to accede to the convention.

The Federal Government’s OPM personnel data

Risk assessment does not just include infrastructure. Risks can also include technological challenges, such as network and data vulnerabilities, which were evident when the Federal Government’s OPM personnel data was stolen.

Create a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation addressing the following:

Describe and provide an example of the terms information, cyber, and computer security. Explain the differences between the terms.
Identify and provide an example of the steps to evaluate the effectiveness of an organization’s mobile security plan.
Contrast and provide an example of cyberwarfare and cyberterrorism

The potential security weakness of SCADA systems

Transitioning from cybersecurity to physical security, this module examines how our nation’s critical infrastructure is affected by the vulnerable cyber technology that controls its daily functions.

In his 2012 Defcon 20 cybersecurity conference presentation, Dan Tentler, founder of the San Diego-based information security consulting firm AtenLabs, shared screenshots of dozens of connected devices he could find on the Internet using a laptop and browser. He was able to access several critical infrastructure systems, showing that they were vulnerable to cyber-attack. His presentation vividly demonstrated that the Internet was not designed with security in mind.

Network-ready industrial control systems that monitor and control the physical processes of machines have become the instruments that contribute to a threat we call physical security. The machines we rely on to supply energy, drinking water, and safe food are at risk. The potential security weakness of SCADA systems was exposed by a cyber-attack against the Natanz Iran uranium enrichment facility. A computer worm, called Stuxnet, caused the facility’s control systems to make the centrifuges spin out of control. Stuxnet, a cyber-weapon that changed modern warfare, does not discriminate between nations; it simply attacks and destroys computer-managed machines.

Ethical Decision-making For Human and Social Services

Ethical Decision-making For Human and Social Services; As you explored, ethical dilemmas are referred to as such because they involve conflicting values and are not easy to resolve. Furthermore, ethical standards and codes do not often give prescriptive advice for specific situations. For these situations, it is useful to employ ethical decision-making models. These models are frameworks that provide sequential steps to guide your research, thinking, and actions regarding dilemmas you may face.

Your course text presents one ethical decision-making model in detail, but it mentions several others. In your current or future roles as a human and social services professional, the organization for which you work may have adopted models they wish you to use, or you may be free to choose your own. As you become more familiar with the models available, you may wish to select models that closely align with your professional values and perspectives. Finally, remember that when you make ethical decisions in your professional practice, clients should be included in this process whenever possible.

For this Assignment, you apply the ethical decision-making model in your course text to a specific event or issue relevant to working within a family system.

To Prepare:

Select a current event or issue related to ethics for human and social services professionals working within a family system. It is not necessary to select an issue for this Assignment that contains cultural elements, although you may if you wish.
Review the “Ethical Decision Making Model” found in Chapter 3 of your course text Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions. Consider how you would apply this model to the event or issue you selected. If your selected issue does contain cultural elements, you may consider applying the transcultural integrative ethical decision-making model discussed in the article “A Transcultural Integrative Model for Ethical Decision Making in Counseling.”

Using the ethical decision-making model, write a paper in which you:

Describe your selected ethical event or issue related to working within a family system. Be concise yet specific about the ethical issues present.
Explain how you, as a professional, would resolve the dilemma using the steps of the ethical decision-making model. Use the NOHS standards as your relevant code of ethics to clarify the dilemma. For the step regarding consultation, explain what type of professional(s) you would need to contact for consultation

Significant discussion about justice and rights

In modern times, there is significant discussion about justice and rights.” We often hear that something does or does not achieve “justice” or that someone has a “right” to something. Please address the following issues in your paper.
1. Define justice and rights from a biblical perspective. This should set a standard by which claims to justice and rights can be analyzed.
2. Select a specific, contemporary legal issue in the United States where individuals assert a “right” to something or state that something is inconsistent with standards of “justice” and apply a biblical understanding of “justice” and “rights” to conclude whether the specific asserted right or claim of injustice you selected is indeed a denial of a “right” or fails to achieve “justice.” Be sure to fully explain each part of your answer.
Be sure to use materials from the reading, the Bible, and outside sources.
Please use “Faith and Order: The Reconciliation of law and Religion” By Harold Berman

Chronology of negotiation

The quality of the analysis in a project is more important than the topic itself. Select a topic you find personally interesting. It is always easier to produce a good project on an atopic you find exciting and relevant. As with the individual papers, team projects should emphasize analysis rather than description or chronology of negotiation (which could be provided in an appendix). You will need to do some outside research for your analysis. You should always cite your sources in the paper and provide a reference section listing all sources. If you do interviews, you should turn in copies of interview questions. If you write a survey you will need to turn in copies of the survey.
