The hijab is a head covering by Muslim women

The hijab is a head covering some Muslim women wear as an expression of modesty based on holy scripture from the Quran.  The hijab has been at the center of various controversies between state law and religion around the world.  In some countries such as Saudi Arabia, the hijab is required for all women, even non-Muslim women when they appear in public.  Conversely, in both Turkey (a Muslim country) and France (a non-Muslim country) the hajib is outlawed in public schools in an attempt to reduce conflict over religious differences.  In the US, the hijab has become controversial for US driver’s licenses because until recently most states have laws in which no hats or head coverings are allowed in US driver photos.  Here are two evening news segments, one from Oklahoma where the woman successfully challenged the courts for her right to have her photo with her hijab, while in Minnesota, a lawmaker is trying to make it impossible.  How do you see these issues and why?
